SOLVED - DNS is unavailable or query timed out ~Umberto Nongeroson 3.Mar.03 02:23 AM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0.1Windows 2000
i was looking through the R5 forum and found loads of suggestions, the one that worked was the registry entry, as we just moved our dns server and had changed the values in the tcpip settings to be the new one, it seemed the most logical place to look and yes it was incorrect (ie not the same as what was in the tcpip settings), i made the correction to the value and mail started routing straight away
now, why is domino using that key, it's obviously been changed by ms??
any chance when using the DebugRouter=3 that the router actually tells you which DNS server it's actually using, it would make tracking these problems down that much simpler
oh, the registry key was HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters
NameServer=x.x.x.x
